'If you're going through hell, keep going'
03:05This quote from Churchill really did motivate me to keep my life going. I understand that my problems may seem insignificant because there are much worse things going on, but the weeks in my Easter have been my hell. Without going into detail, what really helps me is music.
If you know me, you must know that I love Arctic Monkeys.
Yes, I'm a bit late on talking about them but they just have what a great British band should have. Their accents and British feel to their music makes them so much more loveable. (I'm doing posts on music and I'm so rubbish at describing it... ). Lyrics in a song really makes me feel better when I'm in a bad place and finding good lyrics to relate to gives me a buzz as it explains feelings that I can't. Their newest album has made me so pumped up. I want to see them live so badly because I want to support how much they've done for me. I love the whole album but the ones that spring to mind are the singles 'Why'd you only call me when your high?' (also Miley Cyrus has done an amazing cover of it here) and 'Do I wanna know?'. Other ones that I love are 'snap out of it' and 'knee socks'.

Alex Turner, lead singer of Arctic Monkeys has also written the soundtrack for the film Submarine, which is a good film to watch for something in the background as there is little plot, but the camera work and style of the film is beautiful.

A band I always go to when I'm feeling down is You Me At Six. This was the first band to get me into this kind of music. The first song I heard by them was 'Kiss and Tell' and I instantly fell in love with them. Their live music was always questionable but I feel like they are improving. I saw them recently on Sunday Brunch and I just felt so proud of them, and I feel like we are growing together. Though their music has become more commercial I don't feel like there is a problem, yet I do love their old music, their new sound is still great. Old songs give me so much nostalgia and makes me feel like I'm young again. My old favourites are 'Tigers and Sharks', 'Blue eyes don't lie' and ' If you run'.

Lastly there is so much girl power floating around and Haim really take being a band to the next level. They are a band with three sisters who are equally as beautiful as each other. They are talented and create such great music to match a male dominated industry. I saw them live and I was so impressed on how they could hold up. Their music takes me back to summer and really makes me happy and want to dance. Leeds festival was such a great time and I'd love to go back and see Haim. My favourite songs are 'If I could change your mind', 'Falling', 'Forever', 'Days are Gone', and 'The Wire' so pretty much the whole album...
