Friday 15th - Wednesday 20th was family time.
I don't get to see my family often so this time was crucial for me. I went to visit them on the 15th and we went rollerskating. I wasn't really up for rollerskating as being the lazy child I am, I just like to relax during the day on weekends. Much to my surprise it was so much fun being with my family and having fun.
I don't get to see my family often so this time was crucial for me. I went to visit them on the 15th and we went rollerskating. I wasn't really up for rollerskating as being the lazy child I am, I just like to relax during the day on weekends. Much to my surprise it was so much fun being with my family and having fun.
Then my dad got here and I was just so happy to see him. He just keeps me grounded and always reminds me of reality when I'm too much in the clouds. We all went to get dim sum before we rushed home to watch Made in Chelsea!
After going to work the next morning they all came to London for a couple days to look around London and see some show.
On Monday night we went to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This was my personal favourite of the three shows that we watched. This is due to the energy of the show and set! I cannot speak enough about the set, it was just so amazing you have to experience it for yourself! There were just so many bright and bold colours. Seeing one of my favourite childhood stories come to life on stage reminds me that I do love to perform and knowing my expressions and feelings towards the show makes me want to perform and give back just like the actors on this stage.
The next day, we watched Matilda. Whilst the show was also one of my childhood favourites, it was lacking a little in energy but I think that may be due to watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory the night before. The show was still amazing, and the set was clever. The best character was definitely Miss Trunchbull. She was played by a man in drag and it was absolutely brilliant! He portrayed such an accurate representation of her, and seeing him in a skirt may scar me but he was a brilliant actor!
Wednesday was my day off! So I got to spend all day with my family without having to rush eating dinner and getting to shows. So we had a relaxed day, starting with an egg and sausage McMuffin. So yummy! We spent the morning shopping. If I'm with my parents I guess Selfridges would be a nice place to start.*wink wink* I didn't buy anything that day but I was close to getting a Givenchy phone case, but the last one was the display so I decided to pass. I wanted a brand new one (ownership problems...) so hopefully I will find it somewhere else or buy it online (Phone case here).
I wanted to go to the Disney shop to find a mug for Izzie but I couldn't find a nice one. Instead we found Anna from Frozen!
The last show we saw was Lion King. Despite such hype my family and I didn't really enjoy it as much as we initially thought. I'm not sure if it was because we were really tired after walking all morning, or if we expected too much from it but it lacked the energy we thought it contained. Saying that though, the costumes and puppets were so beautifully crafted it was a pleasure to see.
After the show ended, we opted to go for Szechuan food, that was so delicious and spicy my mouth nearly fell off, but it was so worth it. Next on the agenda was to go back to the hotel and rest for the morning. My family left the next afternoon and it was a shame to see them go. I now realise the short periods of time I have with my family means a lot to me. I always took for granted how close they were. I know if I need them now they are just a phone call away, but there's nothing like human contact. It makes me so happy to see them and for them to be well. To quote The Fault in Our Stars, 'I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity'. I have lots of love to give to my family because they deserve the best. I will spend my time trying to give my parents back what I owe, which would never be enough. So much love is spread around here! Before I delve to deep into my emotions I think it's a good idea to end it here! That's all for now. Speak soon.
