Wednesday 9th July

As a drama student I should really see as many plays as possible. The first musical I've seen this time in London is Once. I had no idea what it was about and went in with an open mind. I loved the transitions of the scenes and the simplicity of the set. At first I was quite confused by the ending as I thought it was left on a kind of cliffhanger but (SPOILER ALERT) my friend Vivian explained the reason why the play is called Once is for that particular reason. It was a one time thing and will never happen again. They will lead their own separate lives. I didn't like it at first when I thought it was a cliffhanger, but connecting the title changed my mind and I love the ending. It's actually interesting because it's similar to the situation with meeting my friends from the internship. Possibly only once. Yet I hope not!

I really recommend this play but warning the song falling slowly is so catchy! I can't wait to see more plays in the next two months.
