So I have done nothing all day today and it is about to turn 3:00pm. I spent the whole day in bed watching Empire. I herby present my favourite songs of last week. Check it.

AnnenMayKantereit & Milky Chance - Roxanne (Police Cover)

I stumbled upon this video when watching a couple videos by Milky Chance. From the first strum of a chord until the end of the song, I was completely hooked. The two male singers voices are so rugged in such a good way, and they compliment each other so well. The acoustics are so good too! There's not really much more I can say about this but I just love it.

Disclosure - Jaded

Are you remotely surprised that I'm still loving Disclosure? The more I listen to their album, the more I realise that I love a particular song. I find that this song creeps into my head all the time and it doesn't help that the chorus is so high pitched because I find myself wanting to sing 'Why, oh why d'you have to lie?' super loudly in my room, but I know it will sound so bad and my housemate would tell me to shut up. I find with Disclosure's songs I listen to them and really like them, but the more I listen to them I absolutely fall in love, and this is definitely an example of that.

George Ogilvie -All that I Ask

This is a different one as George is a local artist from my University town. I first heard his music when I went to City Sound Project which is an event held in Canterbury. My friend Maggie who does spoken word (found here) also performed there, so whilst waiting for Maggie to perform, George did a set, and it was so beautiful. He reminds me of City and Colour so much and they are definitely another one of my favourites. My favourite song of his is All that I Ask, which contains his typical aesthetic of acoustics. His voice makes me melt and his lyrics are so original. Definitely listen to his stuff! I can't find this song on Youtube but the link to his soundcloud is here. You can definitely find this song on Spotify!

Mura Masa - Firefly (ft. Nao)

This is such a hit! It makes you feel so good and as my friend Holly said 'it would be so good at a predrinks'. It would get everyone so hyped with the crisp xylophone beginning. It gets me up in the morning and makes me want to dance in the shower. This song recommendation is thanks to my friend Henry Henley (yes that is his real name), a real music legend if you ask me. Thank you Hen Hen, I will be lighting up the streets of Columbia with this absolute tune. There is also a live lounge version which really shows off Nao's voice.

The Internet - Girl

This isn't such a new song but I have recently discovered it from KAYTRANADA's soundcloud. It's such a chilled song, and I love the video. I like the colours and the slight psychedelic atmosphere. Not much else to say, but her voice is so calm and soothing and makes me feel pretty calm, cool and collected.

Sending love to everyone on this gloomy day, especially to those who have been badly affected by the floods.

x
