I didn't pay attention to the light in the dark
13:10Going to and from class and even when I'm getting ready I listen to a lot of music and it's not a particular genre. I thought it would be nice to share what songs I'm enjoying during the week and you may like to see or maybe discover new songs and artists from this process.
Disclosure - Omen ft Sam Smith
Disclosure are two of my all time favourite musicians. Their album Settle is one of my top ten albums of all time and their new music continues to satisfy my ears. With the addition of Sam Smiths vocals, this record brings light and life to my walk and makes me want to dance my way to class.
The Weeknd - Prisoner and Acquainted
The Weeknd and Lana Del Rey are another two of my top ten favourite artists and hearing that they made a song together made me feel warm inside. The contrasting styles of voices complement each other in the song Prisoner. Her light and wispy voice gives the song an extra depth or just makes me happy because I love that she's in a song with The Weeknd. The choir-like voices go well with Lana's voice especially in the ending which puts her stamp on it.
The second song that I love from The Weeknd's new album is Acquainted, which is more similar to his older songs but he has put in more of a pop vibe to make it more widely accepted. This song was leaked as 'Girls Born in the 90's' which has a similar sound to The Weeknd's Trilogy emphasising how popular he has become and how he has adapted.
Fetty Wap - 679 ft Remy Boyz
Fetty Wap is definitely one to watch considering his recent hits My Way and Trap Queen. 679 is already so popular and it makes me so excited about Fetty Wap. I watched an interview about how he lost his eye and he seems like such a nice guy. Other than his personality, his music is so catchy and upbeat and makes me want to dance and sing really loud. Definitely one to roll down your windows and blast out.
Jessie Ware - Champagne Kisses TCTS Remix
Jessie Ware is an artist I haven't listened much to but my dad is always talking about her. I've had this song saved in my spotify playlist for so long due to constantly skipping songs, I barely listened to it. One fine day I left my shuffle to dangerously run by itself and stumbled on this song. I haven't heard the original song so I can't compare, but this is such a nice upbeat song that reminds me of summer. Pretty much every slightly happy and upbeat song reminds me of summer but hey. Also because my dad loves her so much she reminds me of him...
Justin Bieber - What do you mean?
Okay. JB. Making his comeback into the world he has made two great songs. Jack Ü featured him on Where are ü Now and it's made people forget about Justin Bieber's past and accepted him for a changed human being that has taken a path into a new kind of music. I personally think he's made a good choice as pretty much everyone was obsessed with this song. His new single 'What do you mean?' has a similar style and rightly so, another popular song. And megalolz on his casual brand advertising for Calvin Klein in his video.
Duke Dumont - Ocean Drive
I don't know when this song came out but it came at such a surprise. Like many songs it just got lost in my mind until I discovered it one day on the way to drawing class bopping along to this song until I realised I looked like an idiot. It has such a good beat to walk to and makes me feel like I'm in some sort of chase, carrying my portfolio like its a briefcase full of money, running away from the police, when actually I'm walking fast because I'm late. It's definitely my favourite Duke Dumont song right now.
That's all for now!
